Assumption of Risk Partner dance classes and social dance events involve physical exertion, close partner contact, turns, and movement in a group setting. As with any physical activity, there is a risk of injury, including but not limited to muscle strain, sprains, falls, and collisions with other participants. I understand these risks and voluntarily choose to participate in any BC Latin Dance class or event I attend between August 25, 2026 and October 31, 2026. I agree to follow the instructor’s guidance and to advise the instructor immediately if I feel unwell, dizzy, or unable to continue safely.
Release of Liability On behalf of myself and my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, I release BC Latin Dance, Paul Preibisch ("Salsa Paul"), St. John’s Anglican Church, The Grand Hall, Spencer Studios, and any other venue hosting a class or event I attend during this period, together with their respective owners, directors, employees, instructors, assistants, volunteers, and agents (the "Released Parties"), from all liability for any injury or loss arising from my participation — including injury or loss caused by the negligence of a Released Party or a breach of duty under the Occupiers Liability Act — except where caused by gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

Our Policies I acknowledge that BC Latin Dance publishes written policies covering workplace harassment (including sexual harassment), code of conduct and consent on the dance floor, anti-discrimination, safety & protection of youth and vulnerable adults, and how to make a complaint. I have had the opportunity to read them at bclatindance.com/policies and I agree to follow them for every class or event covered by this waiver. Version 1.0, in effect since August 16, 2026.

Photo & Video Notice By attending, I consent to being photographed or filmed during class/event activities, for use on BC Latin Dance’s website and social media. If I’d rather not be, I will tell the instructor before class starts and it will be noted.
Health declaration I have no health condition, injury, or physical limitation that
could be affected by partner dance or physical activity. I do have something my instructor should know about. What should I know? Only I see this. It is on file so I can teach around it.
If your health changes during the season, just tell me before class.
Is the dancer under 19? optional
Almost everybody skips this. Leave it unticked if you are 19 or over.
Yes — the person dancing is under 19 , so a parent or
guardian will fill in an extra section and sign as well. Signature By signing below, I confirm this waiver covers my participation in any BC Latin Dance class or event from August 25, 2026 through October 31, 2026, that I have read and agree to everything above, and that the information I have given is true.

Parent / guardian consent I am the parent or legal guardian of the participant named above. I have read this season waiver and health declaration and I consent to their participation, on the terms described above, at every BC Latin Dance class and event they attend between August 25, 2026 and October 31, 2026.
