About the Nights

Saturday Latin Night and Sunday intermediate · Spencer Studios, Unit 104, 46293 Yale Road, Chilliwack, BC

Saturday Latin Night is built for complete beginners who want to try Latin dance — no experience and no partner needed. The night starts at 7 PM with merengue, the simplest step in Latin dance, moves to bachata at 7:30 and salsa at 8:00, then opens up for social dancing from 8:30 to 9:00 so there is time to use what you just learned.

It's a relaxed, social night, and one of the easiest ways in Chilliwack to get out of the house and meet new people. Come on your own or bring a partner; both are completely normal.

For dancers who already have the basic step, the Sunday intermediate class runs as a set of three nights, building one class on the last. It is register-ahead, so the leads and follows stay balanced.

Classes & Courses

Through October, BC Latin Dance runs two weekend nights at Spencer Studios in Chilliwack: a Saturday Latin Night that teaches salsa, merengue and bachata from the beginning and finishes with open social dancing, and a small Sunday intermediate class for dancers who already have the basics. Complete beginners should come on a Saturday: it starts from zero, so there is nothing to catch up on.

Both nights are 7–9 PM and neither needs a partner. The Saturday is $20 at the door with a room capped at 25. The Sunday is sold as a set of three nights for $75, with the leads and follows balanced, so it is register-ahead and not a drop-in.

Private lessons are also available year-round — $75 for a single 60-minute session (couples the same price) or $249 for a four-lesson pack. Details on the classes page.

About Salsa Paul

Paul Preibisch — known on the dance floor as Salsa Paul — has been dancing for over 20 years. He first fell in love with Latin dance in South Korea and went on to perform in Korea, Japan, and the Philippines.

For five years he taught salsa in La Ventana, Baja California Sur, Mexico, building a thriving beachside dance community. Now based in Chilliwack, BC, he's bringing that same warmth and energy to the Fraser Valley — with Saturday and Sunday classes at Spencer Studios.

About the Website

BC Latin Dance (bclatindance.com) is the home of Salsa Paul's Canadian classes and events in Chilliwack and the Fraser Valley.

Its sister site, bcslatindance.com, serves the original La Ventana, Mexico dance community that Paul built over five years. Both sites offer lessons, bootcamps, and social dance events for all levels — beginners always welcome.
